Congregation Brith Sholem celebrated their 75th anniversary in August 1996. To honor this great achievement for the small synagogue in Ogden, the congregation organized grand festivities. Cindy Tachman spearheaded the events for the 75th anniversary. Cindy was very active as a member of the congregation since 1988. Cindy and husband Michael Tachman moved to Ogden in 1988 due to Michael's new position at the Ogden Clinic as a doctor specializing in endocrinology and internal medicine.[1]

To honor the 75th anniversary of the construction of the congregation’s synagogue, Cindy Tachman became the historian of the congregation. The history of Congregation Brith Sholem was, unfortunately, not well-known and documented as many of the descendants of the early members were no longer active in the congregation. This difficult feat led to Cindy gathering an immense amount of history about the synagogue and the congregation. Past and current members during that period also shared images and personal stories related to the congregation.

Cindy, along with many other congregation members like—Leslie Ansel, Jeff and Pam Schneider, Dawn and Jacques Bedhar, Alice Salita, Sam and Linda Zeveloff, Bob Brodstein, Ralph Benowitz, Lillian Rubin, and Terri Kaufman—organized and hosted a large celebration in honor of the synagogue’s 75th year in existence. Cindy Tachman and Bob Brodstein both contacted local newspapers and other local media outlets to boast this huge celebration. This led to the synagogue gaining media attention as several newspapers published articles about the 75th anniversary. Cindy also collaborated with Weber State University to create a short video about the history of Congregation Brith Sholem.

The congregation celebrated their 75th anniversary on August 24, 1996, at Herman Rubin Memorial Park, a small park dedicated to early congregation member Herman Rubin located behind the synagogue. Activities included music by member Mark Salita and the Ogden Woodwind Quintet, Israeli folk dancing, a history booth, tree planting and time capsule ceremony, and various sorts of activities for children. The celebration was extremely successful. This event led to Cindy and other fellow congregation members hosting an open house in 1997. This event invited non-Jewish communities from Ogden to visit their synagogue and learn about Judaism.
