UAC’s first graduate degree was awarded to Charles T. Hirst as a Master of Science Degree in Agriculture.

Utah Agricultural College was initially a designed as a four-year college heavily rooted in agricultural studies. Years after the agreement struck in 1907 with the University of Utah to limit their curricula to agriculture, domestic arts, and mechanic arts, the UAC was able to broaden their curricula again to include masters programs.
