The Island Market is one of Cache Valley’s only surviving corner markets today. Like a portal back to simpler times, the Island Market preserves the atmosphere of friendly neighborhood grocery stores that have faded out of many neighborhoods.

"Hansen [a previous owner of the Island Market] said although ‘penny candy’ has doubled in price—to 2 cents—it continues to attract local children. She credits the store's location, good customers and quality employees with the Island Market's success in a world of big box giants. Decades ago, it was one of many smaller markets in Cache Valley but now is unique.... 'a dinosaur in the grocery business.'"

As one of the oldest community-based businesses in Logan, the Island Market has a strong commitment towards helping fellow local businesses that is quickly recognizable. A quick perusal of the store’s shelves reveals products from over forty local businesses, with new and seasonal local products being advertised regularly.

Customers who have lived their entire lives in the Island (see the "Logan Island History" page) are able to recall fond memories spanning decades of the store's operation. They are thankful for the ability to support the same business they visited as children.
