Students decorated and personalized their dorm rooms.

The dorms were the students’ homes while they were away from their families for the school year. Dorm parents oversaw the students in each dorm. Students were expected to keep their dorms clean, but they had some freedom in how they decorated their living space. The dorms provided leadership opportunities for the students through dorm councils.

Honor dorms offered privileges to exceptional students, including more freedom to socialize with the opposite sex and manage their own time.

Solo parent dorms were a unique feature at Intermountain Inter-Tribal School. The solo parent dorms gave young single mothers a chance to continue their education. Many of these girls would have been forced to drop out of school due to lack of childcare if they had not had the support offered at Intermountain School.
