"Greenhouse Gases from People's Activities"

Fossil Fuels emit greenhouse gases during food growth, processing, transportation, consumption, and disposal.

"The Greenhouse Effect"

Greenhouse gases trap heat in the earth's atmosphere and contribute to global warming through the "greenhouse effect."

When we don't eat the food that is produced, the greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere are all for naught.

Additional greenhouse gases, especially methane, are emitted during the disposal of food waste.

Some greenhouse gases trap more heat or stay in the air for more years than others.
