Jack London at Utah State University

Summary

Jack London Portrait

Utah State University's Special Collections and Archives, a division of the Merrill-Cazier Library, houses one of the world’s largest archival collections from Jack London, legendary author of classic adventure novels like Call of the Wild and White Fang. Acquired through both purchase and donation beginning in 1964, these materials include a complete set of inscribed first-edition novels and some 45 boxes of business and family correspondence, journals, and other manuscript items. Extensive in both size and scope, this collection enlightens numerous aspects of London’s life, including his politics, travels, writings, and family relationships. This digital exhibit examines each of these areas and more using selected items from USU’s unique holdings. For more details about USU’s collection of Jack and Charmian London materials, see the full inventory.

In addition to this digital exhibit, there is a small digital collection highlighting London's will, correspondence, and book inscriptions. Other items in the digital collection include photographs and book covers. The digital collection contains items not highlighted in this digital exhibit.
