Policy and Regulation
Farm policy falls into three categories: subsides, food safety regulation, and environmental and labor law. Farm policy is often structured to affect family farms differently from industrial farms or to shield smaller farms from the burden of onerous regulation that larger farms are better-prepared to comply with.
