Bushnell Days

Summary

Bushnell Days Graphic

Brigham City campaigned to bring in the Bushnell General Military Hospital during World War II, and Bushnell’s arrival transformed northern Utah. It impacted the lives of the locals who worked at the hospital, the soldiers who recovered there, and many Utah and national communities, including Japanese Americans and African Americans. Bushnell Hospital also had a role on the national stage as the proving ground for the antibiotic penicillin and the advancements made in its prosthetics lab.
