Gender roles within society influenced domesticity in contemporary America. Society was influenced by advice literature in the 1950's-1970's. Today, we too have Advice Literature given to us to help us live our lives within social norms. Advice Literature in the 1950’s-1970’s focused differently on all ages, just the same as advice literature does today. Like the people who lived in the 1950's-1970's, there are many resources to consider when we look at lives today and the responsibilities at home, school, and church.
