This magazine functioned as propaganda that the Japanese government used to shape public moral for the war. This photograph depicts high school girls receiving military training. The image caption translates to: "Women also Take up Arms in the Decisive Battle--"Military training for the students of Taizhong's Number One Grill's High School. Just because women are serving in the armed forces of the enemy countries of America and Britain does not necessarily mean that the goal for Japanese women is to train to become soldiers. However, in order to crush the enemy's impossible dream [of victory], all Japan is now striking as one body and the entire team will be distributed in the fight. There can be no distinction now between the front line and the home front and similarly, there can be no distinction between men and women throwing themselves into the cause of the national emergency. The will to pic up the rifle-bayonet, aim it at the enemy's chest, and plunge it in--all fifty million Japanese women must have that determination." (Translation from: David C. This magazine functioned as propaganda that the Japanese government used to shape public moral for the war. This picture shows shirtless Japanese girls participating in a physical fitness routine at school during the summer. The caption translates to: "School this summer. The norm theses days for healthy young students, and even youngsters at Citizens' School, is to abandon the idea that because school is out, it is all right to be physically unfit and while away the summer at play. This magazine functioned as propaganda that the Japanese government used to shape public moral for the war. This photograph depicts Filipinos waving Japanese flags as they listen to the Japanese Prime Minister Tojo in the Philippines. This magazine functioned as propaganda that the Japanese government used to shape public moral for the war. This photo is a piece of Japanese propaganda showing Filipinos in traditional attire, waving Japanese flags in a parade celebrating the Japanese Diet "granting" the Philippines its independence. The image caption reads "The reaffirmation by Prime Minister Tojo at the beginning of the reconvened Diet of the anticipated granting of independence to the Philippines has boosted the determination of the Philippine people to pour forth their precious sweat in cooperating with Japan. This past 8 February, in Manilla's Luneta Park, the Citizens Rally of Gratitude [toward Japan] took place. The citizens' elaborate parade down the city's main avenue expressed their fervent wish [for independence], receiving thunderous applause." (Translation from: David C.
