Becker, father of Gustav and Albert Becker. John Becker passed away on April 22, 1918 from natural causes. John Becker was born in Baden, Germany in 1829. He left Germany when he was 16 years old, citing a dislike of Prussian militarism as his reason for leaving. After arriving in the United States, he helped to settle Winona, Minnesota. John Becker moved to Ogden with his two sons Gustav and Albert in 1890. John Becker lived in Ogden, Utah until his death in 1918. He was buried in Winona.
