Goverrnor Clyde was a civil engineer, served as the state's water coservator, and oversaw the completion of the Glen Canyon Dam during his tenure. Upon leaving office, governors comission portraits of themselves for the State Fine Art Collection. They are usually reflections of the governor's personal passions and achievements. George Dewey Clyde was the tenth Govenor of Utah, serving two terms from 1957 until 1965 as a Republican. Painting is oil on canvas.</text>
