This is an excerpt from "Japanese American Youth in Topaz Relocation Center, Utah: An Oral History," which is a thesis written by Akiko J. Tohmatsu in 1994. In this thesis, Tohmatsu interviews several Japanese American students who attended Topaz High, as well as their teachers. This excerpt has several comments relating to evacuation and life at Topaz. Tohmatsu uses several acronyms in her thesis: NS means Nisei Student, QF means that they used a question form to communicate with the interviewee, CT means Caucasian Teacher, JAT means Japanese American Teacher, OI means Oral interview.
