Subject
The topic of the resource
Salt Lake Tribune; Salt Lake City, Utah; Ogden, Utah; Utah-Idaho Central Railroad; U.I.C.; Streetcar; Trolley; Streetcar Service; Company Segregation
Description
An account of the resource
While the U.I.C. abandoned its streetcar services in Brigham City and Logan, in Ogden the lines were sold off to a new company who continued to maintain and operate them: the Utah Rapid Transit Company. This was done to simplify the processes of both companies and allow the railroad to grow and develop separately from the streetcar services. Many hoped that this might improve the financial situation of the U.I.C.
