One of the many tasks of railroad workers was to ensure the proper packaging of freight for shipment to long distance destinations. This railroad circular titled "Handling Tropical Fish" provides instruction to employees on the proper shipping and handling of tropical fish. This record from the Mendon Station in July, 1931, also demonstrates the diversity of products being shipped with the U.I.C. and other railroads at the time.
