Title

Another View of a U.I.C. Passenger Bus Near Box Elder Canyon, 1926

Description

A U.I.C. passenger bus travels on Highway 89 near the summit of Box Elder Canyon between Logan and Brigham City, Utah on June 9, 1926. To prevent competition, the U.I.C. established bus services in the mid 1920s to supplement revenue from their railroad services and to provide faster transportation of passengers from Logan to Brigham City and beyond. Note the route description above the windshield showing that U.I.C. buses traveled only between Logan, Brigham City, and Ogden. The bus is also labeled as "Safety Coach" on the grille.
