This is an excerpt from "Japanese American Youth in Topaz Relocation Center Utah: An Oral History," which is a thesis written by Akiko J. Tohmatsu in 1994. In this thesis, Tohmatsu interviews several Japanese American students who attended Topaz High, as well as their teachers. This excerpt includes several responses from teachers at Topaz High (both white and Japanese American) discussing the quality of education at Topaz High as well as the difficulties of teaching there.
